NMHP Champion Training Program 2016
Glenn Taylor, CEO, NMHP Victoria
I am pleased to report that 2016 has been our most successful year for the ‘NMHP Champion’ Program. Between April and October we facilitated 6 training programs, including 2 in Melbourne and one each in Ballarat, Horsham, Wodonga and Geelong, which resulted in the training of approximately 180 new Champions.
These Champions have come from over 30 health services and training organisations across Victoria. As a result, the NMHP has trained approximately 500 ‘NMHP Champions’ since the initiative was introduced in 2013. We are humbled by the compassion and care our nursing and midwifery colleagues display for their colleagues across Victoria and it is this dedication and commitment by our colleagues which drives us to work to continually improve the ‘NMHP Champion’ Program.
We will be undertaking a review of the initiative in the coming months and will advise you of the 2017 training schedule as soon as it is designed.
